Atlantic Regional Support Centre 

The Regional Support Centers are regionally-based organizations supporting the delivery of Faithful Footprints through outreach and engagement, project assistance, and relationship building.

Regional Grants and Programs

Communities of faith in Atlantic Canada have access to various provincial and municipal incentive programs. These funding opportunities are a great way to secure matching funds to support your Faithful Footprints application. Connect with your regional support coordinator and energy auditor to identify relevant government incentives applicable to your project.

New Brunswick

  • Financial incentive up to $10,000 for lighting upgrades, offered to properties with a general service account with NB Power, Saint John Energy, Edmundston Energy, or Perth-Andover Light Commission. A lighting audit is required by a New Brunswick licensed electrical contractor or licensed industrial electrician.

  • Financial incentive available for energy audits, feasibility studies, and eligible energy-saving upgrade projects, offered to properties with general service accounts with NB Power. Receive up to 100% back on the costs of an energy audit or feasibility study when you complete one or more recommended upgrades, up to $60/GJ saved (up to $250,000) for electricity saving projects, and up to 25% of costs of non-electric fuel saving projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.   • Contact a qualified Energy Management Service Provider (EMSP) or Specialized Service Provider (SSP) to schedule an energy audit or feasibility study. The EMSP/SSP will perform the audit or study, discuss potential projects with you, prepare a report, and submit an application on your behalf to NB Power. Click here to find out more.

  • Opportunity for not-for-profit organizations and other community groups to receive Energy Efficiency Kits, containing energy efficient products that can help save on energy costs and improve comfort. Each kit includes a variety of easy-to-install products selected by NB Power energy experts. Kits can include LED light bulbs and nightlights, an electrical power bar, faucet aerators, weatherstripping, electrical outlet covers, water-efficient showerheads, and more.   • Opportunity that provides customers the option to connect their own environmentally sustainable generation unit to NB Power's distribution system. The program allows customers to generate their own electricity to offset their consumption, while remaining connected to NB Power's distribution system. Click here to find out more.


Nova Scotia

  • Financial rebate available up to 80% of project cost for energy efficiency upgrades, a free energy assessment, and up to 24-months of interest-free financing OAC to offset the cost of purchasing and installing products. Click here to find out more. 

  • Financial rebate available for purchase of energy efficient products, offered to all businesses types. Click here to find out more. 

  • Financial incentive of $30 or more to properly recycle used old refrigerators and freezers. Program will pick up and recycle old working refrigerators and freezer for free. An additional $10 is available for used air conditioners and mini refrigerators/freezers. Click here to find out more. 

  • Financial rebate for solar energy system installation, paying back the cost of the solar installation over time through a Local Improvement Charge attached to the property. Click here to find out more.

  • Efficiency Preferred Partners are professionals in a variety of areas, including general contractors, insulation installers, heating system installers, electricians, and more. Click here to find out more. 


Prince Edward Island

  • Financial rebate up to 50% of cost to purchase and install approved high-efficiency products and equipment. Rebates are also available for equipment installed in tourism accommodations and short-term rental accommodations. Click here to find out more. 

  • EfficiencyPEI will connect you with an energy auditor for a free commercial energy audit. Find out more.

  • The solar program makes solar power more affordable than ever before by providing financial incentive for Island homeowners, farms and businesses (including congregations) to install solar PV panels. Find out more.


Newfoundland and Labrador

  • Financial rebate available for energy audits organized by Take Charge staff at 50% of the cost (up to $3,000) and up to $50,000 for energy efficiency upgrades, offered to all faith-based buildings that have a commercial electricity account. Click here to find out more. 

  • Financial rebate available for replacement of thermostats, light bulbs, and occupancy sensors, offered to all faith-based buildings that have a commercial electricity account. Click here to find out more. 

  • Financial rebate available up to 80% of cost for energy efficiency projects, offered to all faith-based buildings that have a commercial electricity account, that is part of an isolated electricity system, and that are in communities powered by a local diesel power generation facility.   • Opportunity for approved Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro Company Customers who own small, renewable energy generators (up to 100 kW) to generate power for their own use, and then send any surplus energy to the distribution system. Click here to find out more.
